Brighter Skills CIC, is a part of Brighter Teaching. It is a new initiative aimed at supporting individuals entering the counselling sector by providing accessible training and educational opportunities. We are deeply passionate about the counselling field and believe that representation for everyone is crucial. Brighter Skills strives to fill the gaps in support for underrepresented identities within the sector.

The counselling profession plays a critical role in enhancing mental health and wellbeing within our communities. However, many aspiring professionals from diverse backgrounds face barriers to entry, including financial constraints, lack of mentorship, and limited access to information about available resources.

At Brighter Skills, we recognise these challenges and are committed to creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for future counsellors. We aim for our programs to offer a range of services, including scholarships, tailored training workshops, and mentorship opportunities with established professionals in the field. We seek to empower individuals by equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in their counselling careers. By fostering a community of diverse voices and perspectives, we aim to enhance the quality of care provided to clients from varied backgrounds.

In addition, we collaborate with community organisations and mental health agencies to promote awareness of our initiatives and the importance of diversity in counselling. Together, we can build a brighter future for the counselling sector, ensuring it is accessible to all.
